The Challenge
The organization needed a compelling, cinematic narrative to mobilize donors, partners, and cultural influencers around its mission to close the wealth gap.
Our Approach
As a partner and producer at Flipbird.co, we developed and are producing a documentary centered on economic mobility, using the Club and Detroit as the backdrop.
Our team embedded on the ground with a director, producer, director of photography, cinematographer, and photographer to capture authentic stories of students and mentors building real pathways to wealth creation. The film was designed not as a promotional piece, but as a cultural narrative about opportunity, resilience, and systemic change.
The Result
Though still in development, the film has already generated national momentum. Early interest has been garnered from Big Sean, Usher, and Oprah Winfrey— signaling strong cultural relevance.
Before its premiere, the project has positioned the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Michigan as a leading voice in the wealth gap conversation, opened pathways for high-level partnerships, and created a powerful storytelling asset to drive future fundraising, distribution, and national visibility.
